The Future Of Real Estate and Mortgage Relationships – Coach Bill Hart
Coach Bill Hart recently recorded two excellent videos about the evolution of how top producing mortgage and real estate professions are working together for the purpose of enhancing customer service, increasing marketing reach, improving communication or raising their collective level of education.
As the home buyer tax credits end, the government pulls out of the MBS market, financial reform continues to threaten the real estate recovery and the mountain of shadow inventory gets more overwhelming every day, the remaining industry professionals are facing a very uncertain future.
In the following two videos, Coach Hart lists some examples of how the top 5% of agents and originators are currently working together to survive and thrive in this new environment.
If you haven’t been introduced to Coach Hart’s video blog yet, it’s totally worth including in your weekly subscriptions.
As a 27 year veteran of the mortgage and real estate industries, professional coach with Building Champions since 2003, and the host of a top producing real estate agent interview series for the past 15 years, Bill Hart is definitely qualified to claim he has the pulse of the market.

I think these two videos are particularly relevant to Mortgage Revolution, especially since our little networking / educational movement was founded on the belief that we can all achieve more as a group.
For those of you coming to San Francisco, here are a few examples of some topics being taught that follow (or can be applied to) Coach Hart’s concept of “Working Together” with real estate agents:
Database Management:
- Khai McBride is sharing how he works less hours by managing his business more efficiently through contact management and relationship building techniques.
- Fred Arnold will also be sharing during his mastermind panel a few simple routines that he uses to reach out and make an impression on his past clients and referral partners every day.
- Scott Schang has built his targeted list of first-time home buyers to over 10,000 within the past year and a half. He sends out a weekly email inviting them to his homeownership education series of webinars where he teaches about the mortgage and real estate process. Talk about leverage…. agents love to be featured in Scott’s newsletters, and he’s even showing them how to build similar opt-in lists of interested prospects.
Video:
- Roberto Monaco and Jeff Paro are the public speaking / InfluenceOlogy coaches of the coaches. Their SF presentation will be focused on expanding your reach, message and reputation through video.
- Combine Roberto and Jeff’s lessons with the thorough education you’ll gain from Frank and Brian’s course on producing a video marketing campaign, and you can fill a room of potential real estate video co-hosts who want to learn about integrating hyper-local reporting with YouTube.
Social Media:
- Working with social media savvy real estate agents online has actually been my saving grace over the past few years as a Las Vegas loan officer. Naomi Trower and I will be teaching busy loan officers how to leverage the web more efficiently and effectively.
- Shashank Shekhar and Pat Kitano are going to blow your mind with a breaking news project that automates local Twitter feeds for the purpose of driving targeted traffic back to specific landing page. With over 300 real estate agents in cities around the Country that are already adopting these innovative “anti-social” social networking marketing models, what an excellent opportunity to be the first loan officer in your town to show your agents measurable results on Twitter.
- “Targeted Traffic” is the main theme that we’ve kept consistent with all of our social media presentations. Views, Fans, Exposure, Branding… yeah, neat. As far as marketing and business are concerned, we only care about the web traffic if it produces the type of results that turn into transactions. Carl White will show you how to use Facebook to meet agents, and then provide them with valuable information every day.
Marketing / Relationship Building:
- Dave Krushinsky and Jason Klaskin have built relationships with entire offices of agents through communication, closing loans on time and providing unique systems that help create new real estate business. They’ll be sharing a few of these ideas during the Loan Officer Mastermind Panel.
- Derek Egeberg put a couple hundred first-time home buyers in his first live seminar. How many agents do you know that might show up to one of your seminars if you were able to fill a room of potential clients for them?
- Jeremy Forcier is simply a rock star when it comes to making new friends. Besides the fact that he follows through with commitments, and is an action taker, agents just like hanging around him because he’s got a great attitude.
- Mike Metz invites the top producing agents in his town to his weekly radio show. Imagine the conversations that you could broadcast to your community about short sales, foreclosure, new disclosures, GFE hold-ups.
- Brian Larrabee and Dave Savage have two different strategies that they’ll be sharing which can be hyper-charged if combined with a real estate team.

excellent video!! We all have to pull together. Cindie Nielson Loan Officer
Bill,
You couldn’t be more right. I re-entered the mortgage industy a few months ago and I’m steadfast on developing relationships with Real Estate Agents after all my prior experience being with lead sources. My company offers Home Buyers Marketing as a tool to partner with agents, which I think is a great way to create synergy and foster teamwork. That’s where the gold is! Great video; I’ll be subscirbing to your blog.
Thanks,
Greg King
Welcome to the NEW industry Greg! HBM is one of my favorite tools. Best of luck in your efforts and let me know if I can be of value to you moving forward!

Bill – I am finding traction with Realtors in helping them begin the CRM process with free email/newsletter services like MailChimp and Mad Mimi. These are great services that allow for automated marketing at little or no cost. Check them out (you probably already have because you are always a setp ahead!)
That’s great Rick. This is such a great area to focus on with your agents. I was not familiar with MailChimp and Mad Mimi – but I am now! Thanks for the heads up.
And there is a a great coaching moment; stay open to new tools and systems that fill a need. I learn from you guys, coaching clients, RSS feeds of my favorite sites, reading etc. This is the time to grow, develop and evolve!
Bill: Some really great ideas, now let’s hope people will listen and take advantage. My company uses the MBTI or Myers Briggs Type Indicator to introduce LO’s to REA’s to get an understanding of why they “Did Not” communicate in the past. Once they understand their differences they are able to work together providing great service to their clients. Purchasers are impressed when the two sides of the process work well together for their benefit. “Better Together” great title. Robert
You could not be more right. I too recently re-entered and i am only working to do just what you are saying. Helpinght the realtor partner grow thier business. When they ask why I do this and they always do, I explain what you spoke about. Only you say better, until now.
